Rock 'N' Roll: Sex, Drugs and an Early Exit

Article from HealthDay News
From Elvis Presley to Jimi Hendrix, from Janis Joplin to Kurt Cobain, rock and pop stars are more than twice as likely to die early compared with the general population, British researchers report. What's more, pop stars often die within a few years of achieving fame, often due to drug and alcohol abuse. But it's their role as icons that worries the researchers behind the report that appears in the September issue of the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health.

"People should understand the type of lifestyle that many of these performers live," said study author Mark Bellis, director of the Centre for Public Health at Liverpool John Moores University. "In addition, the music industry should consider not just the short-term health of popular rock stars, but also the longer term health even as they disappear later into obscurity." Part of the problem is living with the stress of fame, Bellis said. "Also, living in an environment of money and fame, which protects people from some of the consequences, which would make members of the general public give up drugs," he said. "Generally," he added, "affluence enhances people's lifestyles and prolongs life, whereas in this particular case the exposure to fame and what comes with it is associated with a mortality which is higher than that in the general population."

LEARN Demands Full Investigation of Michigan Planned Parenthood Abortions

From staff @ christiansunite.com
Pastor Clenard H. Childress Jr, Northeast Regional Director of LEARN (Life Education And Resource Network - BlackGenocide.org) appearing at Planned Parenthood of South East Michigan and joined by members of Operation Red Sea, local pastors and Michigan State director of American Family Association issued the following statement:

We are standing here today because there have been strong indications of the possibility of crimes of the worst sort being committed at this facility.
We are standing here today demanding a proper and thorough investigation of under aged girls who have been denied protection and whose bodies have been violated for others selfish gain.
When girls under the age of 12 are brought into a Planned Parenthood and has her child aborted, that is a crime under the states current law. If there has been a cover up of these egregious acts, the citizens, and especially the authorities of Kalamazoo, need to act responsively and with all diligence.
Planned Parenthood has had numerous investigations and lawsuits filed against them in other cities regarding performing abortions illegally. Life Dynamics taped over 800 conversations with Planned Parenthood and National Abortion Federation clinics all across America. Those tapes prove that Planned Parenthood and NAF fail to comply with the law. They ignore the law even in cases of child sex abuse where child rape is disclosed and acknowledged - not just suspected. These tapes have already been used in court by one state to defend the parental involvement law against a Planned Parenthood lawsuit. Yet even more repulsive is the gross injustice done to these young girls.
Don Imus was fired for calling the Rutgers' Girls Basketball team "hoes". I then must ask the question, what should be done to Planned Parenthood's who treats young girls from our community like one [a prostitute]? They [Planned Parenthood] profited from those young girls sexual abuse and pain and sought no remedy for the girls' dire situation. They received their money and sent them back to the abuse and the abuser - like a piece of property a "thing' with no concern for their safety or well being. Ironically Planned Parenthood would perform the same service again, if called on, without remorse. Are they working in cooperation with sexual predators? These calloused acts only can be perceived as willingly endangering the well fare of minors and protecting sexual predators from justice.
We are calling upon all elected and appointed officials to uphold the law and hold Planned Parenthood and all parties accountable. We are asking that all information be forwarded to the [Michigan] attorney generals office and all parties in question would comply with the investigation. The citizens of this city depend on our police and their motto to "serve and protect". I ask the clergy, the shepherd's of this community, to hold its sitting officials responsible and bring this to a just conclusion.
EDITORIAL: When are people going to realize that Planned Parenthood (PPFA) is not about rights, but about monetary gain? They perform abortions, in almost ANY instance, because it makes money for them. They could care less about the well fare of the girls/women involved. Planned Parenthood could care less about the legality in many situations. Planned Parenthood is a money making machine, started by an atheist Communist (I know, that's redundant) and run by people who do not and will never value ANY life -- be it born or unborn.

Report: Sexual Images Psychologically Damaging Young Girls

Sexualized images in the media are psychologically damaging young girls and corrupting childhood, according to a group of psychologists. The report says that virtually all media forms are promoting inappropriate images of products such as toys and clothing that are harmful to girls’ self image and healthy development. It specifically criticizes Bratz dolls (the prostitots of the toy world), which come dressed in miniskirts and fishnet stockings and outsell Barbie dolls in Britain by two to one. Asda (a British megastore) has been condemned for marketing black lacy underwear to nine-year-olds.
The American Psychological Association’s (APA) report says that marketing companies take advantage of youngsters’ desire for affection and the need to conform, leading to eating disorders, low self-esteem and depression. Academics believe that the influence and attitudes of parents, siblings, and friends can also add to the pressures of sexualization.
Eileen Zurbriggen, the APA’s chairman, said: “The consequences of the sexualization of girls in media are likely to be a negative influence on girls’ healthy development. We have ample evidence to conclude that sexualization has negative effects in a variety of domains, including cognitive functioning, physical and mental health, and healthy sexual development.” The report says that parents can play a role in contributing to the sexualization of their daughters or can play a protective and educative role.

"As a society, we need to replace all of these sexualized images with ones showing girls in positive settings - ones that show the uniqueness and competence of girls," states Dr. Zurbriggen. "The goal should be to deliver messages to all adolescents - boys and girls - that lead to healthy sexual development."

EDITORIAL: I've been saying this for YEARS! Sexualization of our children is harmful to them. It's unfortunate, but it happens almost everywhere. Even Wal-Mart (and other retailers) sell panties for 9-year olds, with sayings like, "Eye Candy" or "Sweet Tart" on them. That's disgusting!
With all of the freely available porn on the net (including child pornography), it's no wonder child sexual abuse is on the rise. The Cooey's of this world get their sick rocks off by abusing little girls who are driven towards being sexually enticing at younger and younger ages. The circle is vicious -- and children are ALWAYS the ones who lose.
